Math Lessons
Taking advantage of beautiful autumn days and the lovely falling leaves of autumn, we took our math lesson outside. We were on the hunt for perfectly symmetrical leaves. Once we found the best contenders, we brought them inside and very carefully cut them in half – fortunately the stem provides a very convenient guide. After we had divided our leaves we tried our best to draw in the missing halves, paying attention to the details of shape and color. Our finished representations of symmetry will be laminated to keep them fresh.
